A Grotesque Folk Art Caricature Gentleman Walking Cane Circa 19th Century.
A comical folk art gentleman in the grotesque style made from one piece of briar wood. With a hat and three button suit this chap really is the sartorialist even if he does look a bit of a grump. With early inset sulphur eyes and detailed carvings to the face and hair. The briar wood extends down the shaft with thick protruding knotty bumps. The tip is completed with an iron tipped brass ferrule.
