A Customs Officers Walking Stick with Auger Circa. 20th Century.

A beech crutch handle which is separated from the shaft by a nickel collar. The handle twists off to reveal a hidden steel auger. Used primarily for inspecting goods by Customs Officers. The steel auger is plain steel and extends the full length of the shaft. The shaft is made from bamboo and finished with a nickel ferrule.
