These exceptional chairs are the only surviving pair from the MV Reina Del Pacifico First Class Dining Room and were skillfully crafted in Moresque style by Heaton Tabb and Co Furniture Makers of Harland Wolfe.
Expertly crafted by the prestigious Bold Street firm Heaton Tabb & Co these chairs reflect the impeccable quality and design associated with Harland & Wolff Ltd, renowned for fitting out the Titanic and some of the most luxurious Atlantic liners in the world.
The unique design of the contract for this ship was to incorporate Moresque and Colonial styles. Each pair of chairs within the First Class Dining Room had a country flag on the leather back rests. This pair have the Japanese Flags on the back rests and can be seen from the original photo taken on board the ship in the First Class Dining Room. (Please see picture for reference)
They encapsulate the opulence and sophistication worthy of the high seas, making them a prized addition for any discerning collector. The Bell of the MV Reina Del Pacifico is on display at The Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight.
Both chairs have been sympathetically restored by a Professional Leather Antique restorer.
